Cervical Health Awareness Month was established by the National Cervical Cancer Coalition in order to enhance awareness of the prevention of cervical cancer, particularly the importance of screening for this malignancy.

Great American Smokeout
Every year on the third Thursday in November, the American Cancer Society sponsors the Great American Smokeout, which encourages smokers to quit cigarettes for at least one day. More people quit smoking on this day than any other day of the year. This year's event takes place on November 18.
